If you saw me right now you would think that painting kicked my booty.
But in fact…I think I won. Putting in our new flooring, on the other hand, took Miguel down hard. In his own words: “I never knew my butt could hurt so much.”
Im going to rewind to December, though, and show you what we’ve been up against. First, our house needed major rewiring and updating. Rewiring = lots of holes in walls.
Second, we wanted to get rid of the popcorn ceiling in the bedroom. Easy peasy his brother said. So easy peasy the whole ceiling had to come down and new dry wall went up.
And last but not least…. we wanted to put in new flooring. A. I didn’t like the crazy fake parquet flooring in the front room and kitchen, and B. the bedrooms had dirty carpet. So, really new flooring was the way to go. But honestly, it’s been a pain since the beginning: taking off the vinyl required unused muscles, renting a sander (costly), levelling it (also costly).
We were finally able to start installing the new flooring this weekend. Installing new flooring = 2 days of doing squats for Miguel. Booo. But also YAY because they look awesome. The floor, peoples, not his buns. Get yo minds out of the gutter! ha. ha.
And that’s it for the house updates. I’m going to try really really hard to put up another house post this week so you can see our progress, because we’ve come along way baby.
